■コンセプト
一枚の屋根スラブを窪ませて部屋を分節する。

When a site is surrounded by nature, we suppose the architecture should not have walls around it, but instead the surrounding nature itself should express the concept of the architecture with its colorful changes of the seasons.
This plan includes expansion of living space by just adding three rooms.
To answer this request, we decided to create the spaces using a single roof.
In any form of architecture, creation of internal space always requires a roof and floor. We solved the issue with a minimum elements and manipulation, which is to fold the roof in the middle to create three spaces. Here, there are two rooms open horizontally (garden) and the one in between which is open vertically (sky). The middle room is built on top of the roof but at the same time inside the building.
By creating the rooftop space with an atmosphere of inside, it provides a cozy, private place similar to a kind of pocket prepared in the natural backdrop. The resident may develop his/her own place amongst the nature by moving around the three spaces, alternately facing the horizontal and vertical expansion of nature.

This is an attempt to create a link between the nature and human through the roof design.
